The Dacromet process is an optimal technology to replace the traditional electro-galvanizing and hot-dip galvanizing, which are highly polluting to the environment. The process consists of several key steps designed to ensure the quality and corrosion resistance of the coating. The following are the main steps of the Dacromet process:

Degreasing: Oil is removed from the alkaline solution using a neutral cleaner or organic solvent (e.g. trichloroethylene, etc.). The surface of the pre-treated part should be completely wetted with water to ensure that the coating will adhere uniformly. The thoroughness and effectiveness of degreasing will directly affect the adhesion and corrosion resistance of the coating.

Shot Peening Surface Oxide Layer Treatment: The oxide layer is removed from the surface of the part by a shot peening machine and dusting with compressed air. This step helps to increase the adhesion of the coating to the substrate.

Multi-alloy Co-permeation Furnace Co-permeation: The workpiece is co-permeated in a multi-alloy co-permeation furnace to enhance its corrosion resistance.

Passivation: The workpiece is passivated to further increase its corrosion resistance.

Dipping or spraying Dacromet solution: The pre-treated workpiece is coated with Dacromet solution by dipping or spraying. During this process, factors such as density, pH, viscosity, Cr content, temperature, and flow conditions of the coating solution affect the performance of the coating.

Sintering and curing: The workpiece coated with Dacromet solution is sintered and cured at a high temperature of about 300°C, so that the coating is tightly bonded to the substrate, forming a strong and corrosion-resistant coating.

Cooling: The sintered workpiece is fully cooled by a cooling system to ensure the stability and durability of the coating.

By using the Dacromet process, these parts not only gain excellent corrosion protection but also have a higher level of safety and aesthetics. At the same time, the Dacromet process is environmentally friendly, helping to reduce the environmental impact of conventional galvanizing.

Please note that the specific steps of the Dacromet process may be adjusted depending on the actual application scenario and workpiece characteristics. In practice, appropriate process parameters and operating methods should be selected according to the specific situation to ensure the quality and performance of the coating.
