1. The rusting rate of unprotected steel in the atmosphere varies from year to year, starting fast and gradually slowing down later, the rusting rate in the first year is about 5 times that in the fifth year.

2. The degree of rusting of steel in different areas varies greatly, and the rusting in coastal and supermarket areas is much more serious than that in dry climatic areas.

3. The rusting rate of steel structure in industrial areas, especially heavy industrial areas, is high, about 2 times that in urban areas, and about 10 times higher than that in fields and mountains where there are few erosive media in the air.

4. The corrosion rate of outdoor steel structures is about 4 times that of indoor steel structures.

5. The steel structure isolated from the air almost does not rust, such as the two closed ends of the steel pipe, the test proved that, regardless of the pipe water storage or not, the rust of the inner wall of the pipe is very little, you can not do any treatment.

6. Low-alloy steel (especially containing copper elements) is better than carbon steel structure to resist rust and corrosion.

7. The corrosion rate of steel structure with antirust coating is about 3~5 times slower than that of uncoated one.

8. The parts that are easy to accumulate dust or are susceptible to moisture corrode seriously.
